Sporecyte Professional Air Sampling Pump Kit 6

What is the Sporecyte Air Sampling Pump?

The Sporecyte Air Sampling Pump is a professional air sampling pump that’s used by professionals who need to test for mould and air quality, primarily in tenants’ homes.

When used with the AirTrap® XL cassette, it collects mould spores and other airborne particles which can then be analysed, so that you can see the hidden dangers within indoor spaces. .

Sporecyte Air Sampling Pump Features

The Sporecyte Air Sampling Pump has many key features which make it easier than ever to test for mould and airborne particles:

  • Adjustable flow rate
  • Mountable to a tripod
  • Automated 5 minute timer with LED display
  • Compatibility with mould testing cassettes like AirTrap® XL
  • Operated by the included 12v wall adapter or battery pack (sold separately)

How the Sporecyte Air Sampling Pump Works

It works by drawing in air through our Airtrap XL cassettes, which then pick up airborne particles, including mould, dust, pollen and other airborne pathogens that stick to the cassette.

To get a base level reading, an outdoor sample must be collected alongside the indoor samples for comparison. .

Once the samples are collected, they are then posted to our AI-supported lab to be analysed, from which you’ll receive a full mould and air quality report.

Step 1

Place the Sporecyte Air Sampling Pump on a stable surface, or a tripod, and connect the power cable to the wall (if you don’t have a battery pack).

Step 2

Open the cap on the bottom of the AirTrap® XL mould sampling cassette.

Step 3

Put the AirTrap® XL cassette on top of the Sporecyte Air Sampling Pump and open the top cap of the cassette.

Step 4

Press the power button on the Sporecyte Air Sampling Pump and the pump will run for 5 minutes. After 5 minutes, the pump will auto shut off and sampling is complete. Close the cap on the top of the AirTrap XL cassette.

Step 5

Remove the AirTrap® XL cassette from the Sporecyte Air Sampling Pump and close the bottom cap to seal the device.

Step 6

After you’ve taken samples from every room in the home, as well as taking an outside sample, you’ll need to complete the mould sample return form and place it in a secure, padded envelope with your samples to be sent to our lab for testing.

FAQs

Why do I need to test outside?

+

The outside sample serves as a baseline, representing the ambient air quality. This baseline reading will be taken in an area away from potential contamination sources like flower beds or gardens to avoid artificially skewing the sample. Indoor samples are then compared to this control.

Who should use the Sporecyte Air Sampling Pump?

+

Any professionals that need to test for indoor air quality and mould, including landlords, housing associations and home health inspectors.

What can a test with a Sporecyte Air Sampling Pump detect?

+

The AirTrap XL, paired with the Sporecyte AI platform, detects, and identifies 90+ mould spore types, as well as 10+ Air Particulates including pollen, dander, dust, combustion particles, and skin fragments.

The primary focus is identifying mould, as this has proven an issue in the UK, leading to the introduction of Awaab’s law.

How long does air sampling take?

+

With the Sporecyte Air Sampling Pump and the AirTrap® XL, it takes just 5 minutes to get a sample.
